Holiday Week
Holiday Week, August 3rd - 7th, 2026
The club is holding its traditional Holiday Week from August 3 rd - 7th. The popular week, which is open to visitors, offers a combination of racing, kids' club, tuition, leisure sailing and family fun on and off the water, as well as daytime and evening entertainment and catering.
There's a packed five-day programme which includes Supper Ducklings and Sailing Lessons on a morning and racing on an afternoon with a prizegiving every day.
Also on offer are opportunities to explore beautiful Ullswater with the leisure sailing group and fun water activities for everyone. Tents and Motorhomes (sorry no caravans) are welcome on the club's 'Birkett field' with its stunning lake views.
The clubhouse, changing rooms and showers will be open and there'll be some evening meals, which must be pre-booked Monday to Friday.
Holiday Week Tickets
Five Day Pass - £50 per UYC Membership / £250 for visitors which includes temporary membership and overnight camping.
One Day Pass - £10 per UYC Membership / £50 for visitors which includes temporary membership and overnight camping.
Evening Meals are charged separately.
Camping is free to UYC Members, but must book pass to secure a pitch.
Other Useful Information
- The bar is open from lunchtime to 11.00pm daily. You can make hot/cold drinks in the members' kitchen at any time.
- For queries about the sailing programme, see the Officer Of the Day, for queries about shore side, see Julie Archer (She's the one with the fabulous smile!)
- We have Wi-Fi at the club and your computer should find it with ease. Please don't download anything large or naughty!!
- Children under 16 must have a responsible adult to supervise them at all times; if this is difficult a parent will do.
- Children must wear a suitable life jacket at all times when on, under or near the water (this includes the jetties). (It is also recommended for any adults who are for any reason, a little wobbly).
- Each changing room will be closed for a short time between 6.30pm and 7.30pm for so we can dry them out a bit. The disabled loo will be available during that time. It would be really helpful if you do not leave any kit on the floor.
- Wet people are politely requested to please use the back door after 5.30pm.
- Please sign up to help with volunteering activities such as racebox assistants, safety boat; four o'clock funzone, children's party, bar duties etc a little from everyone will make the week run smoothly and it is that which makes it such a cheap week.
- Keep your eye on the notice boards for information and changes to activities. There is also information about local takeaways and nice places to visit.
- We like dogs, they are very welcome. They will get lots of fuss and attention if they are sat by the benches near the race box, however they are not allowed on the two lawns we launch from outside the clubhouse or inside the clubhouse. Swimming off the windsurfer lawn seems a very popular evening doggy activity. (Obviously you can take them off lead whilst you let them swim from the windsurfer lawn, but they must be closely supervised the whole time). See other doggies for details of this and all the best smells and walks. And remember, they must be on a lead at all times and a responsible adult must be on the other end of the lead.
- Remember the first rule of holiday week: Have a fabulous time!!
