Training for club members
UYC has a comprehensive programme for delivery of training for juniors who are club members. Regular low cost junior training courses run in spring and autumn when youngsters are taught in groups and have a chance to mix and get to know each other. The instructors for these sessions are volunteer club members who are all RYA qualified.
Training is also available to all club members of any age or level of skills throughout the year at a discounted rate, and is particularly popular with family groups, improvers, or those looking to develop specific skills, such as sailing with spinnakers, PB2 or instructor qualifications.
Every year we also hold a Sail Camp for children aged 8 - 14 which is focused on fun activities on the water, increasing sailing skills and building relationships between junior members for the future. Run by volunteers for up to 50 children for many of our young members this the highlight of the year.
