Ladies Who LaunchCalling all ladies who would like the opportunity to get out on the water. Ladies who Launch is an informal session run by ladies for ladies. Our aim is to give you the support and confidence to get on the water. The sessions provide some friendly faces and a bit of help if you need it. We always have experienced sailors to help and a safety boat on the water. If you don't have your own boat, we have access to the sailing school boats for which individuals are asked to make a contribution.
The sessions vary depending on the needs of those who turn up, in the past we have covered things from triangular courses to roll tacking, dry capsizes to race starts. There will always be lots of helping hands when it comes to launching and recovering. If it's too windy then there is always coffee and a chat in the clubhouse. It's not our place to teach you to sail, you need to know the basics so our club training sessions or the sailing school are the best starting point for complete beginners.
We aim to be changed and ready to go on the water for 10am, but if you are late, don't worry, you can catch up with us on the water. Just come down to the club and look out for our lovely purple hoodies and T-shirts.
Dates for 2019 to come.
