We are the Club Champions

The 'Pink Ladies', Anne Noble and Pam Brooks won the 'We are the Club Champions' match racing event on Saturday, September 25. The knockout event, in two of Ullswater Sailing School's Laser Bahias, involved 12 of the club's most experienced sailors in six teams of two battling it out to become Club Champions. There were six rounds of two teams racing each other in light, unpredictable winds on a short windward/leeward course in front of the clubhouse and plenty of lively partisan spectators. The final was between Team 'We Need Group Therapy', Keith Lockey and Paul Adams, and Team 'Pink Ladies', Anne Noble and Pam Brooks. The 'Pink Ladies' won the race and were crowned champions.
The final was followed by a best-of-three-races duel between Team 'Unprotested', Graham Donkin and David Lyons, and Team 'OCS', Dave Giles and Josh Moran. This was won by 2-1 by OCS.
The match racing was organised by UYC Sailing Manager Steve Sykes with Lester Noble as the impartial judge, and boat drivers Mark Simpson and Emily Stiles. Thanks to everyone involved, it was great entertainment.
