Holiday Week

Five fantastic days of sailing, family fun and unforgettable memories on beautiful Ullswater.
Holiday Week 2026 once again showcased everything that makes Ullswater Yacht Club such a special place. From Monday's registration through to Friday's prizegiving, the club was alive with activity, laughter and great company both on and off the water.
Over the five days, members and visitors enjoyed:
- Competitive racing, Back-to-Back races and the Long Distance Island Race
- Family cruising and a Floating Picnic for non-racers
- The ever-popular Twilight Race on Wednesday evening
- Crazy Races that delivered plenty of fun and entertainment
- Match Racing, the SUP Challenge, Slip & Slide and the Jetty Slide
- Super Ducklings sessions, arts and crafts, glitter tattoos and circus skills for our youngest sailors
- A fantastic range of evening meals, from the traditional BBQ through to pizza, fish and chips and Friday's lasagne supper
- Live music and plenty of opportunities to relax and socialise with friends old and new
Holiday Week is about far more than sailing. It brings together families, friends, volunteers and visitors to enjoy everything that makes Ullswater Yacht Club unique.
Thank You!
A huge thank you goes to Julie Archer, whose hard work, enthusiasm and dedication helped make Holiday Week such a success. Coordinating a week of sailing, activities and social events is a tremendous undertaking, and we are incredibly grateful for all the time and effort Julie invested.
Our thanks also go to everyone who volunteered throughout the weekthose in the race box, on the safety boats, in the galley and bar, our instructors, race management team, catering volunteers and the many others who quietly stepped in wherever help was needed. Holiday Week simply could not happen without the support of so many members.
Julie summed up the spirit of the week perfectly in her own words:
"Every single person who smiled and had fun, you made it an awesome week."
"I'd like to say a huge thank you to all the members, visitors and staff who have volunteered and helped out this week."
Looking Back, and Ahead.
We've included just a small selection of photographs from across the week. They capture some wonderful moments.
Thank you to everyone who sailed, volunteered, supported, spectated and joined us for Holiday Week 2026.
We are already looking forward to welcoming everyone back for Holiday Week 2027. Dates and further information will be shared in due course.
