UYC Win Prestigious 'RYA Event of the Year' Award

A brilliant day for UYC at the Royal Yachting Association Dinghy Show in Farnborough.

We are proud to announce that UYC has been presented with the Event of the Year Award for the 63rd Lord Birkett Memorial Trophy (2025). This recognition highlights the exceptional delivery of one of the UK's most iconic mass-participation sailing events. UYC was shortlisted with Parkstone Yacht Club, and Port of Plymouth Sailing Association.

Members of the UYC team were in attendance to accept the award on behalf of the club. However, this achievement belongs to our entire community. We extend our sincere thanks to all volunteers who contributed to delivering such a high-quality, and now 'award-winning' event.

We would also like to announce a huge congratulations to our members Sean and Pam Brooks, who were honoured with the Unsung Hero Award in recognition of their outstanding dedication and contribution to sailing.
