Dave Boddy RIP

Dave Boddy sadly passed away on January 7, 2022, having received palliative care for cancer.
Many members will be able to picture Dave in his regular seat in the bar. He avoided fuss and was camera shy but was caught in this photo unawares when having his lunch aboard his Friendship 22 'Big Hiccup'. A Yorkshireman, he said what he thought but was always helpful when asked for advice on sailing matters.
He had been a UYC member since 1985 but many may not be aware that he was an accomplished and experienced ocean yachtsman delivering and moving large expensive luxury yachts around the Mediterranean.
A character and valued UYC member, Dave will be missed.
