Daffodil Regatta, April 23 & 24
Published 11:39 on 2 Feb 2022
Entries are now open for Ullswater Yacht Club's first open event of the season, the Daffodil Regatta on Saturday and Sunday, April 23 and 24. There'll be daffodils galore at the prizegiving as UYC joins in Ullswater's spring celebrations in praise of Wordsworth's favourite flower.
After being cancelled in 2020 and held in May in 2022, the Daffodil Regatta is back to its traditional early season spot in the racing calendar.
The Daffodil Regatta offers great racing in beautiful surroundings and racers of all classes are welcome. It is also a travellers event for the Musto Skiffs, Waszps/Moths and VX Ones. Racing will be split into two fleets, a windward/leeward for the asymmetrics and a mixture of courses for the other handicap boats. All fleets will sail six races over the weekend - three on Saturday, start not before 12.30pm, and three on Sunday, start not before 11am, with a briefing at 11am on the Saturday.
There's camping and campervan parking on site from Friday. Entry to the event and booking for camping is through the UYC website at: https://ullswateryachtclub.org/event/642547 Entries close at midnight on April 20. Entries can be made at registration on the Saturday, subject to a £10 surcharge.
