Commodore Urgent Update 24 March 2020
Corvid 19 Pandemic
Safeguarding the health of members, employees and visitors to the Club is paramount. In line with the Government's restrictions to avoid non-essential contact, social gatherings and non-essential travel, the Board has decided to close the site until further notice.
The Directors wish to support the efforts of the government, local authorities and health services to combat the virus and to reduce the number of people who become infected. This is a major disappointment, but we must have regard to the risk to us all and particularly those members who have been identified as high risk.
This means that there is no member access to the site and all club and sailing school events and activities including cruiser launching are postponed until further notice. Please do not attempt to access the site as the gate will be locked. Members will not be allowed to launch their own cruisers until the site is reopened.
The government guidance is available

The Board appreciate the impact of these changes but feel that these are the most appropriate actions in these exceptional circumstances, we will continue to monitor the situation and the daily government guidance updates.
The club has survived two floods and other challenges over years and we need the support of members to get through this crisis, get the club back into action and to be back sailing.
I reaffirm the Hon Treasurer's message on Friday that he is confident that the Club will be financially secure throughout 2020 with continuing member support. You may be aware that Government financial assistance is available and we are pursuing that too.
For those members who are facing financial hardship that may arise from the Covid-19 crisis, they can contact the Commodore, Paul O'Hara in strict confidence for support.
If members have any queries, please do contact me.
In the meantime, please take care and follow Government and medical advice on keeping safe.
