Winter Storage
Under Bylaw 5(f) members wishing to leave their boats on site after 30th November each year may do so subject to (a) payment of the Winter Storage Fee (£56 for dinghies and keelboats), and (b) completing the necessary booking paperwork which will shortly become available on the UYC website.
If you have booked in to participate in the Winter Series, your boat will not be required to booked in for Winter Storage until after the last race in the series. If you are participating in the Winter Series and intend to leave your boat at the Club after the end of the last race, you will need to book in for Winter Storage.
When booking your winter storage berth you will be advised of the appropriate area of the site to relocate your boat to. This will be different from the location you have your boat stored in for summer. Members may have seen the recent photo from Paul Lewis highlighting the challenges of managing space for boat berths at the Club. We are keen to optimise the space we have available for dinghy berths to allow as many members as possible access to appropriate berths. It is therefore helpful to keep the site clear over the winter, to allow us to relocate bars if necessary as part of any rearrangement of berths.
Finally, if you are planning on leaving your boat on site over the winter, please check that you have the necessary insurance in place to cover outside storage during the winter season.
