Cruising Guide 2020
There are many delightful anchorages along the length of Ullswater. The useful UYC Cruising Guide 2020, which is available to download below, explains how to make the most of your time on the lake, with details of the best places to moor up. The Cruising Guide has been updated for 2020 from the original version written by John Easterby in 2011 and put together with the help of Liz Amos, Judith & Bryan Lindley (photographing every site) and Neil Thompson (map). John spent some time interviewing a group of long-established cruiser members who knew the lake anchorages well. Some of these members are no longer with us and the excellent Cruising Guide is a fitting tribute to them.
John said; "I have reviewed the content and as far I can see the information is still accurate - the unfortunate thing is that there are still many parts of the shore which remain in private hands and landing is not encouraged. There is still a great deal of pleasure to be gained by cruising on the lake and long may it continue."
