General Manager
Jack Allan, General Manager

Jack joined UYC in May 2024 with experience leading private member sports clubs, fitness, tennis, and racquets clubs. Most recently a five-year tenure managing Windsor Lawn Tennis Club, leading the club through a period of growth. Jack has experience working closely with boards and committees and to help deliver the club objectives and enhance the overall experience for club members, as well as guests and visitors.

Jack is also passionate about sport and fitness he graduated from St.Mary's University in Twickenham in 2010 with a 2:1 degree in Sports Science, Management and Nutrition. Before university he travelled around Australia and New Zealand for a year. He is also a qualified personal trainer and worked as gym & sales manager at one of the National Sports Centres - Bisham Abbey. He enjoys water sports, gorge walking, fell climbing and outdoor fitness activities!

Jack has always had an eye on living in Cumbria, to be closer to family members who live in Scotland, and to be among the overall stunning scenery and lakes.

Senior Sailing Instructor
Josh Barre, Senior Sailing Instructor

Josh joined UYC in March 2026, having worked previously on the Red Sea, the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, teaching sailing.

With a wealth of experience Josh supports the Sailing activities for Ullswater Yacht Club and Ullswater Sailing School.
