Sail Camp

Application forms for entry to the 2022 Sail camp will be available on the UYC website from Friday 13th May 2022, until Friday 27th May.

This year we are expecting Sail camp to be very popular, and may potentially be oversubscribed. If this is the case we will run a selection process and send a further notice to applicants to confirm the selection criteria.

Applications are open in respect of Club members who are aged between eight and fourteen years old on the 24th July . Whilst the club has some boats available for hire during Sail Camp where possible please try to have one boat per child available for that week.

The cost of Sail Camp this year is £210 per child, and includes sailing training and all meals from Sunday evening, up to and including Friday lunchtime.

As Sail Camp is volunteer led and managed, a condition of participation is that a carer or parent must be able to cover one volunteer shift at Sail Camp for each child they have attending. Volunteer duties rotas are finalised once places are allocated, and successful applicants will be informed of their volunteer shift dates and times as soon as we can, as we appreciate that people need to make arrangements with work.

We are following the government guidelines with regard to COVID and will be seeking permission from parents and carers to carry out Covid test's on children which show any symptoms of COVID. If the test is positive then the child will need to be collected from Sail Camp. Further details will follow once the applications have been received and considered.

Please remember these are applications for your child to take part in SailCamp all participants will be emailed shortly after the 27th May.
