Family Week Update

We look forward to welcoming many members of UYC to Family Week which runs from Monday 10 - Friday 14 August. Whether you are planning to camp, stay in a motorhome or just come down on a daily basis it will be lovely to bring the UYC family together in this way.
If you haven't yet booked a camping or motorhome slot please do so via the UYC website. There will be plenty of room as the Birkett Field is being made available for motorhomes from Monday morning until end of day Friday. Tents can stay in the camping field all week.
The week will be informal in nature with plenty of opportunities for people to sail, relax and explore the local area.
Thanks to various UYC members coming forward with ideas and offers of support we hope to see some of the following activities taking place:
* Informal Leisure Sails - we will look to suggest these happen on days when the weather looks most favourable but will do our best to give advance warning of these especially to help those just planning to visit UYC for the day.
* Periods of safety cover on the water - subject to PB2 qualified members availability.
* Fish and Chip Night - Wednesday 12 August @ 6pm. Delivery to UYC from Sandgate Chippie in Penrith. Advanced orders only which I will co-ordinate, Delivery charge of £12 will be waived if we can do an order of £150 or more. Gluten free options available. * Quiz Night
* Photo competition
More ideas are most welcome! If you have an idea and would be happy to lead on it please get in touch.
If you haven't already done so please let me know if you intend be at UYC during next week. If you can also let me know if you want to be a part of the Fish and Chip Night that would be really helpful.
To help communicate what's going on with UYC members next week with mobile phones I have created a WhatsApp Group. If you are happy to provide your mobile number I will happily add you to the group and it will help us all keep in touch with what's going on.
