New Sailing Development Officer

New Sailing Development Officer

Edmund, 21, has been a UYC member all his life, learning to sail at the club and becoming a sailing instructor. He is a valued and popular volunteer and a keen racer.

Along with his passion for the club, he is also very well qualified for the role as a RYA Senior Dinghy Instructor, a Keelboat Sailing Instructor, a Level 2 Racing Coach and a Powerboat Instructor and has qualifications in kayaking/ canoeing, caving and mountain biking. He is currently working at an Outdoor Education Centre in North Yorkshire.

To give him an opportunity to continue to enjoy his sailing, Sunday will be his day off plus one other day, except when we have a major event. If members are not sure - please look at what he is wearing, if in uniform he is working. Club training gets under way on May 6 & 7 and  the application form for Courses A & B is now on the UYC website under Training.

Edmund takes over from Charley Steel who resigned as SDO over the winter for health reasons. The club wishes Charley a speedy recovery and thanks her for her contribution in 2016.
