Looking for somewhere to sail in the Lake District?  Look no further than Ullswater, one of the most stunning lakes in the UK. We are located at the northern part of this seven-mile lake and, being only 10 minutes from the M6, we are the most accessible. Whether it's an introduction to sailing, RYA training, or competitive racing you're after, we have it all. And if you are a member of UYC you can camp for free in the club grounds.

We are delighted to announce that on March 4 we won the RYA's Club of the Year 2017 Award and in January we won Yachts and Yachting Magazine's Club of the Year 2017 Award.

Ladies Race at Ullswater Yacht Club on Saturday, May 24

Ullswater Yacht Club was in the pink on Saturday, May 24 for the annual Ladies Race event.
There was an excellent turnout of 21 boats, from single-handed Toppers, to racing dinghies and cruisers and sailors of all ages from juniors to veterans. Shown below are Ladies Cruiser Champion Sam Harding with UYC Commodore John Spivey and on right, Sue Giles being presented with the Ladies Trophy by Commodore John Spivey watched by crew Dave Giles and Race Officer Anne Noble.

NW Junior Travellers Series Saturday 17th May

The NW Junior Travellers Series took place at Ullswater Yacht Club on Saturday 17th May.  A

total of 28 boats took part in the event. Competitors were met with warm, sunny conditions but gusty and shifty winds which proved challenging for the competitors.

You can try sailing under the friendly expert guidance of our qualified Royal Yachting Association Instructors. The Club will provide buoyancy aids and children's helmets. All you need is warm clothing, showerproof and shoes you don't mind getting wet.
